Catholic school board tackles safe school policy in wake of violence


The North York high school chaplain of a teen shot dead near an Etobicoke high school recommended some students might tell teachers about potential violence if they knew their identity would be protected.

“There is a very strong code that you don’t tell,” Ross Cappellaci, James Cardinal McGuigan High School chaplain, said Wednesday night at St. Andrew Catholic School in the Kipling and Finch avenues area.

“But students may want to tell if the proper mechanisms were in place for them to tell in a very unknowable way. I think there would be a response.”  (more...)
