Moncton teacher William MacGillivray on trial for sex charges

The jury trial of William MacGillivray, a Moncton teacher accused of sexually exploiting a female student, heard from the alleged victim on Tuesday.

MacGillivray, 41, who was also a drama instructor at Harrison Trimble High School, is accused of child luring, sexual exploitation, and obstructing a police officer.

The offences are alleged to have occurred between March 1 and Nov. 30, 2013.

The alleged victim told the Court of Queen's Bench she first had MacGillivray as a teacher in the fall of 2012, when she was 17 years old.

She enjoyed his class and that they had several similar interests, she said.  (more...)
