More moral fallout from the Equity policy in Ontario schools

Parents who want to have an idea of the sexual topics that could soon be covered in elementary schools should pay attention to what is happening at St. George Catholic School with the Ottawa Catholic District School Board. A young student in Grade 6 as part of the social justice program wants to "research" the idea that to be "rude" is to "make being gay a bad thing." And of course no adult wants to touch the delicate subject of feelings and of making  others feel accepted. But is it a research topic? Do we pay taxes for students to spend time on these issues? Why is "sexual identity" being used as the primary characteristic that defines the human person?

Ted Hurley, the Chairman of the OCDSB said, “The core message is that gay rights are a human right and that the underlying attitudes that have led to discrimination need to be addressed in school and in society as a whole.” So, an entire school board, the Archdiocese of Ottawa, the school principal and trustees are on the defensive.  (more...)
