Parent group schools NYC teachers union prez Mulgrew on pervert educators

The Parents’ Transparency Project wrote a scolding letter to United Federation of Teachers President Michael Mulgrew, pictured, on Monday in the wake of a Daily News report that dozens of sexual predators are still working in city schools because of a dodgy disciplinary system that allows abusive staff members to keep their jobs.
Match your words with deeds.

That, in a nutshell, was the message Monday to the teachers union president Michael Mulgrew from an education advocacy group which called on him to make good on his promise to go after perv teachers.

“You have repeatedly written or said that the UFT contract has ‘zero tolerance on the issue of sexual misconduct with children,’” Campbell Brown of The Parents’ Transparency Project said. “Unfortunately, the record does not support that claim.”

Lawyers for classroom creeps are using the union contract’s definition of what constitutes sexual misconduct to keep them in their jobs, Brown wrote.

“A lawyer may parse words and play semantics in determining whether these incidents may be defined as ‘sexual contact,’ but parents cannot,” Brown, a former CNN anchor, said.  (more...)
