Ernest Fenwick MacIntosh conviction a win for Nepal group


Those bent on molesting minors in Nepal have fierce opponents in Saathi’s WATCH Project, which kept Ernest Fenwick MacIntosh under surveillance for months and helped bring the Nova Scotia pedophile to justice.

The group is gaining a reputation for successful investigations against perpetrators like Bluenose expatriate MacIntosh, convicted in 2015 of forcing sex on a Nepalese boy.

After his Nova Scotia convictions on 18 charges of indecent assault and gross indecency against young males were quashed by Canada’s top court, MacIntosh left notoriety behind, traveling to India before settling in the picturesque South Asian nation of Nepal in 2014. He rented an apartment in Kathmandu, styling himself as the friendly retired engineering executive E.F. Macintosh, (nicknaming himself “Mr. Mack”), and working on a website devoted to spices.

But even though a Canadian court tossed out his convictions for offences dating back to the 1970s, because of the length of time it took to prosecute him, the former hockey mentor was not off the hook.
