Piano teacher charged in decade-old sex assault

TORONTO - A 52-year-old Vaughan piano teacher is accused of sexually assaulting a young pupil nearly a decade ago, police said Thursday.

An investigation was launched on Sept. 13 after a teenage girl came forward with allegations involving her former teacher that date back to 2006, York Regional Police Const. Andy Pattenden said.

“The victim took private piano lessons at the accused’s home in the city of Vaughan,” Pattenden said.

He said the inappropriate behaviour allegedly began when the girl was only eight years old.  (more...)
