Court adjourned to April for Calgary Catholic teacher accused of sexual relationship with student

The case of a Calgary Catholic board teacher accused of having a sexual tryst with a student has been put over to April.

Lawyer Steve Eichler appeared at provincial court Friday on behalf of Jennifer Mason and adjourned the case to April 9.

Mason was not required to appear in person.

She is charged in connection with allegations she had a sexual relationship with a student between August, 2012 and November of last year.

In a Feb. 14 press conference, Child Abuse Unit Staff Sgt. Kelly Campbell said four sex-related charges had been laid against the 30-year-old teacher.

“The student was 15 years old at the time the incidents started,” she told reporters.  (more...)
