It’s with mixed feelings that we read of the recent decision of the Federal Court of Appeal in the matter of Helmut Oberlander. In rejecting Oberlander’s appeal, the court appears to have removed any impediment to having this member of a Nazi mobile killing unit deported from Canada.
One the one hand, justice, even when long delayed, is welcome. But on the other hand, why did it take 25 years to bring this case to the verge of completion?
Canada’s history of dealing with war criminals and their enablers is shameful. Simply put, the murderers and their helpers were allowed to come to Canada and live out their lives in peace. When the outcry of Jewish advocacy organizations forced the government to act, the response was phlegmatic and, more often than not, these men died of old age in their beds, enjoying what they denied to their victims.
At least in this case, the government was not to blame. Both the current Liberal and previous Conservative governments of Canada made repeated attempts to remove Oberlander’s citizenship and his person from this country. In all cases they were stymied by the Federal Court. Appeals over two decades were accepted again and again, one ruling even offered arguments that Oberlander’s lawyers did not raise. (more...)
Michael Joseph returns to Our Interesting Times to discuss his video series Occult Catholicism. We discuss the conflict between the Old World empire based on monarchial and clerical hierarchy and the Freemasonic New World Order founded upon “equality”, “liberty” and “fraternity.”
Michael is an esoteric researcher connecting Occult doctrines to social movements, trends, art, entertainment, organizations and world events.
While Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland traveled the world raising the alarm over the threat of white nationalism, Global Affairs Canada quietly funded and trained the neo-Nazi infiltrated National Police of Ukraine (NPU)
The NPU, which was established in 2015 as part of former President Petro Poroshenko’s post-Euromaidan reforms, was meant to replace the corrupt Militsiya of the former regime.
Shortly after the new police service was created, Stéphane Dion, Canada’s-then-Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced an $8.1 million donation to fund the newly-established NPU. $1.5 million of which was intended to be put towards better equipping the police force.
Since the beginning of the Ukrainian Civil War in 2014, Canada has been one of Ukraine’s most vocal and committed allies in their fight against Russian-backed Eastern separatists.
“We are working closely with the National Police of Ukraine to transform Ukraine’s police service into an effective, accountable and community-focused institution that embodies public trust,” said Dion in a statement about the initiative.
The project, which was titled “Supporting Police Training in Ukraine (SPTU)” would involve training Ukrainian police forces, establishing up to date police academies, and “increase awareness of gender and human rights considerations.” Its intended end date was January 31st of this year.
According to the RCMP operations website, up to 45 Canadian police officers were deployed to Ukraine in order to take part in the program since 2015. At the same time, top Ukrainian police officers traveled to Canada to partake in training operations within the country.
Despite Canada’s interest in promoting human rights among Ukraine’s national police force, the NPU has worried human rights organizations due to its suspected ties to far-right extremism and infiltration by neo-Nazi sympathizers. (more...)
Prince Carl Eduard (Charles Edward) with Adolf Hitler
George V’s decision, a century ago, to change the name of the royal family from “Saxe-Coburg and Gotha” to “Windsor” was so momentous that it caused the king’s cousin, Kaiser Wilhelm II, to utter his only recorded joke.
“I am planning to go and see The Merry Wives of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha,” the Kaiser quipped.
World war was raging in 1917, anti-German sentiment in Britain was ferocious, and Germany’s Gotha heavy aircraft had begun bombing London. The royal family’s German name, the result of Queen Victoria’s marriage in 1840 to Prince Albert, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, had to go.
The proclamation of July 17, 1917, permanently changing the royal surname to the impeccably British-sounding Windsor, was one of the most successful rebranding exercises in history. But while the royal family could ditch its name, it could not shed its German relatives, who would re-emerge in the most sinister way during the next war.
The relationship between the royal family and their pro-Nazi German cousins is one of the most important untold stories in British history. But the details of that salutary tale remain securely locked away in the royal archives in the Round Tower at Windsor, inaccessible to scholars and public alike. One hundred years after it changed its name, the royal family is determined to protect its good name by concealing this dubious but crucial chapter of its past.
The key figure in the saga was Carl Eduard, Duke of Coburg, first cousin of George V, who began life as an English prince and ended it as a committed Nazi. “Charlie Coburg”, as he was known, a grandson of Queen Victoria, was born in Britain and educated at Eton. At the age of 16 he inherited the Dukedom of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, moved to Germany and became thoroughly Germanised. In due course he fell under the Nazis’ spell, backed the terrorist organisation that brought Hitler to power and was promoted to the rank of general. (more...)
They come from all walks of life: tradesmen, soldiers, a student teacher, a financial analyst, an aspiring lawyer, among others. And they are in every province, in communities large and small. They gather on the internet to strategize and seek pathways into mainstream politics. They are anti-Semitic, anti-immigrant, Islamophobic, sexist and racist. They are young and radicalized. They are the new far right in Canada.
The Globe and Mail has obtained a trove of 150,000 messages posted between February, 2017, and early 2018 that reveal the private communications of a loosely aligned node of Canadian right-wing extremists. The record of their continuing conversations reveals a movement, energized by the rise of white ethnonationalism in the United States, that aims to upend a decades-old multicultural consensus in this country.
The discussions reviewed by The Globe and Mail originally took place on a text-and-voice application called Discord, an app meant for gamers that is also popular with the far right. The group called itself the Canadian Super Players, apparently to disguise themselves as video gamers.
The messages were given to The Globe and Mail by Montreal-based anti-fascists, who infiltrated the chat room in order to gather information on the far right and disrupt their activities.
The discussions celebrate Nazism and joke about the Holocaust. They contain boasts of racist, sexist and homophobic behaviour on the part of participants. Many of the in-jokes and memes the members share resemble those propagated by the far right in the United States and Europe. (more...)
This is the first journalistic effort that I have seen that comes this close to naming the foundational Nazi nexus in Canada -- its blue-blood daycare centre in the heart of Toronto. There are several references to the University of Toronto and its graduates and academics. Although the article treats this connection peripherally and focuses on fringers seeking societal legitimacy, the truth is that Canada has a blue blood core of Nazis and its elite anglo-american university is at its heart. Unfortunately, The Globe and Mail is dependent on corporate advertising revenue and is as much controlled as any American Operation Mockingbird mouthpiece. The Deschênes Commission sorta-kinda investigated the Nazi ratline into Canada but, as continued MKULTRA disclosures have shown, there is still much to be revealed to the Canadian public. My own experience at the university convinced me that the Nazification of Canada's oligarchy runs much deeper. We need an honest investigator like John Loftus to scope out the true depth and extent of Canada's rat's nest:
What is the Truth behind marijuana legalization and the medical marijuana industry? Is it at all what we're told?
A CIA asset?
Weaponizing Anthropology documents how anthropological knowledge and ethnographic methods are harnessed by military and intelligence agencies in post-9/11 America to placate hostile foreign [and domestic] populations. David H. Price outlines the ethical implications of appropriating this traditional academic discourse for use by embedded, militarized research teams.
Price's inquiry into past relationships between anthropologists and the CIA, FBI, and Pentagon provides the historical base for this expose of the current abuses of anthropology by military and intelligence agencies. Weaponizing Anthropology explores the ways that recent shifts in funding sources for university students threaten academic freedom, as new secretive CIA-linked fellowship programs rapidly infiltrate American university campuses. Price examines the specific uses of anthropological knowledge in military doctrine that have appeared in a new generation of counterinsurgency manuals and paramilitary social science units like the Human Terrain Teams.
Black metal and churches burnings are headlines once again, making for one of the more unsettling aspects of 2019 thus far. February of this year witnessed the release of Lords of Chaos, a fictionalized account of the rise of the pioneering black metal band Mayhem. By April, a budding black metal musician by the name of Holden Matthews was arrested for setting fire to three historic black churches in the state of Louisiana. Of course, Louisiana has its own dark history of black churches being burned. But church burnings have very much became one of the founding myths of the black metal community.
This too traces back to Mayhem. The group had been founded in 1984. Throughout its initial run (until 1993), the driving force had been Øystein Aarseth, who went by the name of Euronymous. By the early 1990s, the band had generated much hype around itself despite having only issued a handful of demos, bootlegs, and one EP. Their proper debut album wouldn't even be issued until 1994, after the first incarnation of the band was defunct.
Despite this, band members were largely able to focus on the group full time without being burdened with holding down a job. Euronymous was even able to procure his own record store in 1991, Helvete (which means "hell" in Norwegian), which generated little to no income, but which served as a rallying point for the emerging Norwegian black metal scene. How exactly Mayhem was able to establish a reputation within the metal community and financially support themselves with so little output from the band (which rarely played live either) is one of the more curious aspects of their saga that has been little explored.
According to Dayal Patterson's Black Metal: Evolution of the Cult, at least some of the funding for Helvete came from Euronymous' parents, of whom few details are available on. Presumably, they also helped financially support Euronymous during his time with Mayhem in addition to the record label he launched around the time of opening Helvete. Another future Mayhem member, Varg Vikernes (of which much more will be said below), also appears to have come from a well-to-do family. Lena Bore, Vikernes' mother, reportedly gave $20,000 to a neo-Nazi clique in 1997 to break Varg out of prison after he was convicted of murdering Euronymous.
But what of the other band members and hanger-ons? In Patterson's work, it is hinted that some supported themselves through various illicit acts, most notably selling drugs and firearms. But this may not have been the case in the early days. Many of the participants in the early scene are described as coming from solid middle class background, but even the middle class of the 1990s would have struggled to come up with $20,000. On the whole, one is left with the impression that there was some real money backing up the early scene, though naturally few researchers have explored this angle. (more...)
Among other originally Catholic movements, Pro-Lifeism has undergone an infiltration and capture by occult forces. I leave it to other insiders to look around their new high priests and uncover the hidden linkages.
