Internet and phone services collapsed across the Gaza Strip on Thursday following Israeli airstrikes on key infrastructure.
“The central and southern governorates of the Gaza Strip have joined the isolation suffered by Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip for the second consecutive day, as a result of the continued targeting of communications networks and vital main routes,” the Palestinian Telecommunications Regulatory Authority said.
Efforts to repair the damage are hampered by ongoing Israeli attacks, the body added.
Meanwhile, Israel has not let up in its massacres and deliberate starvation of the entire population in Gaza. This week alone, Israel killed 500 Palestinians and wounded more than 2,000, targeting Palestinian men, women and children in residential buildings, school shelters, tent shelters and at so-called aid distribution points.
We are joined by Francesca Albanese to talk about the genocide and efforts to end it.
An international lawyer, Albanese has served since May 2022 as the United Nations special rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories.
