THE family of Are You Being Served? star John Inman reacted with fury yesterday as he became the latest celebrity to be accused of historic sex abuse.
Police are probing claims that Inman sexually assaulted a 13-year-old boy at a hotel and in a theatre dressing room 36 years ago.
The alleged victim came forward last month and told detectives a friend of Inman promised him an acting role if he would perform sex acts for the star.
Outraged Debra Inman, the late actor's niece, dismissed the allegations yesterday as fantasy.
"I'm in total shock. Accusing him of this is just awful," Ms Inman said. "It's unbelievable, horrendous.
"You look at all the Jimmy Savile stuff and who is jumping on the bandwagon - people seeing an opportunity."
