Ling had been accused of preying on as many as ten girls while he worked at the Chetham’s School of Music |
Chris Ling shot himself as US marshals tried to serve him with a warrant for his arrest at his £1.5million home in Sherman Oaks, California.
The 56-year-old had been accused of preying on as many as ten girls while he worked at the Chetham’s School of Music in the 1980s.
Now, in the wake of his death, some of the women who made allegations against Ling have contacted lawyers and are planning to sue the prestigious college in Manchester.
Specialist abuse lawyer Liz Dux, of Slater and Gordon, said: 'We have been contacted by a number of women who have made serious allegations against Ling.
'They had been awaiting the outcome of the criminal proceedings but they will now not see Ling face a jury.
'It is always deeply upsetting when victims are denied the chance of achieving justice in the criminal court.
'We will now be advising them to begin civil action against the school.' (more...)
