STF orders Regina teacher's certificate cancelled over alleged sexual encounter with student

The Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation has moved to cancel the teaching certificate of a Regina woman accused of having a sexual encounter with a student in a mall parking lot.

The organization's disciplinary committee conducted a penalty hearing into the case of Christene Laurans earlier this year and has now posted the outcome on its website.

In a document dated Oct. 2, the STF says it has ordered that the Minister of Education cancel Laurans' teaching certificate.  (more...)
