A notorious paedophile visited children's homes around Britain before advising the Home Office on reform of the child care system, it emerged today.

Peter Righton - a founding member of the Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE) which tried to decriminalise sex between children and adults - toured homes around the Midlands and North West before contributing to the Government paper in 1970.

He was later convicted of importing child abuse images and evidence used to convict him is now at the centre of a new inquiry into allegations of a sex abuse gang linked to the British establishment.

Righton, who is now dead, became an academic specialising in social work after leaving a teaching job following allegations of child abuse.

The BBC reported today that he was heavily involved in preparing a report which led to schools for wayward youngsters being replaced by 'community homes' and being brought under local council control in the 1970s.

A retired child care professional told the BBC that Righton visited children's homes in Stoke-on-Trent, Wolverhampton, Rochdale and Preston while assisting the Home Office.

Whistleblowers in universities can hit the national headlines for shining light on issues of public interest, only for their careers to end up in very dark places.

Some of higher education’s most prominent whistleblowers paint a bleak picture about the impact on their subsequent careers. They talk about being persecuted by colleagues after coming forward. But even after leaving their jobs, some believe they still suffer a legacy. One talks about being “effectively blackballed” from ever working again in higher education.

For other whistleblowers, exile is self-enforced. “It has damaged my career. But I’m not really sure I wanted a career by the end of it…There were so many people in prominent leadership positions who behaved so appallingly, I just couldn’t carry on within the profession. I just felt sick about the whole thing,” says Aubrey Blumsohn, who left his post as a senior lecturer in metabolic bone disease at the University of Sheffield, after raising concerns in 2005 about research on a drug made by Procter & Gamble, a funder of research at Sheffield.  (more...)

Third-party reproduction is a prism for violations against humanity. IVF and the sperm trade launched a wicked industry that now includes abortion, eugenics, human trafficking, and deliberate family fragmentation.

Earlier this month, news broke about an Australian couple that, after commissioning a Thai surrogate in the creation of twins, left the male twin in Thailand due to his diagnosis of Down syndrome. According to the surrogate mother, when they got the diagnosis, they wanted her to abort, but she refused, carrying the child to term and naming him Gammy. They also demanded a refund. It has furthermore been revealed that the Australian father spent several years in jail for twenty-two convictions of child sex offenses. The little girl, baby Gammy’s twin, is still in his care.

Later this fall, the UK’s Department of Health will be launching a national sperm bank to “meet demand,” using £77,000 in public funds to effectively subsidize fatherlessness. British women can reduce their child’s father to the conveniently assorted drop-down menu categories of ethnicity, eye color, hair color and education level with just the click of a mouse.

The fertility industry and now legislators are saying “Love is all that matters” and that these children should be grateful that they are so “wanted.” With high rates of infertility and delayed parenthood, almost everyone knows someone who has suffered from involuntary childlessness. While sympathy is due to those who experience this painful struggle, the popular script that veils the inherent evil of third-party reproduction is based on three grave moral errors: materialism, relativism, and consequentialism.  (more...)

Journey to Baby Gammy: How We Justify a Market in Children

For far too long, sexual abuse has been a voiceless crime. Victims suffered in silence because they had no confidence in the authorities and didn’t think anyone would believe them.

Thankfully we’re now seeing this crime dragged out of the shadows,  victims are feeling empowered to come forward and justice is being delivered.

In my constituency of Rochdale I’ve seen first-hand the damage it does. We’ve had a major grooming scandal and the evil legacy of Cyril Smith to contend with.

Children have been raped and lives have been ruined. Slowly but surely the law is beginning to catch up with abusers.

However, I’m convinced some abusers are continuing to get away with it because the pace of change is being held up by one major obstacle: The Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police, Sir Peter Fahy.  (more...)

Envy and Narcissism

Before we add gender identity and expression to anti-discrimination laws and international agreements, it might be a good idea to try to understand what is driving those the law is supposed to protect –the transgendered, transsexuals, transvestites, cross-dressers, drag queens and kings, gender queer, adults and children with gender dysphoria (previously know as gender identity disorder), and autogynephiles (men who are in love with the image of themselves as a woman).

With such a diversity of expressions of gender dysphoria (being unhappy with the sex you were born), no single characteristic could be expected to be applicable to every person who could claim protection under “gender identity and expression” status, but there is reason to consider the possibility that many could be described as being motivated by pathological envy.

As I was trying to find a way to explain why men who claim to be women trapped in male bodies aren’t women, I came across a web post by Thorin25, a man struggling against the temptation to cross-dress. I felt his insights were significant since dressing in clothes associated with the other sex is the gateway to the transgender world.  (more...)
