A leaked report shows Canada exported military goods to Israel in 2024

 

A report from the Library of Parliament has been leaked to the public, and it confirms what we heard last week: that Canada has in fact been exporting military goods to Israel, including in 2024.

I reached out to Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand’s office about this newly public report. 

In response, they confirmed that the report is accurate.

“(…) we are not disputing the Library of Parliament’s report, which factually compiles publicly available information,” a spokesperson told me.

“However, any interpretation of this report that suggests it contradicts previous government statements is incorrect.”

How can this Library of Parliament report be accurate, while not contradicting previous government statements? Those statements asserted, for example, that the government “will not allow Canadian-made weapons to fuel this conflict in any way.”
