Members of Oxford Action for Palestine (OA4P) have initiated an occupation of the Radcliffe Camera building at the University of Oxford, naming the space the 'Khalida Jarrar Library', as part of their protest against the University's complicity in supporting Israeli occupation and apartheid.
In a statement, the group declared they could no longer tolerate "business as usual" while the University maintains financial and material ties they claim enable "ruthless Israeli genocide in Gaza." They said their occupation will end only if the University publicly agrees to meet all six of OA4P's demands within a clear timeframe, which include divesting University-wide assets, boycotting institutional relations with Israel, dropping Barclays partnership.
This comes after the university threatened legal action in the form of a court order last term, shortly before OA4P disbanded their encampment.
