An internet predator accused of blackmailing more than 500 children across the world into performing sex acts on camera before he sold the images has been arrested in Peru.

Arturo Dodero Tello, 29, considered the most prolific paedophile in the Spanish-speaking world, was detained on Thursday after an 18-month dual-continent undercover operation by police in Spain and Peru.

Tello faces charges of targeting children in countries across South America and Europe - including Peru, Argentina, Chile, Ukraine and Spain, and selling the videos he made of them across the world.

He is also accused of belonging to an international sex gang.  (more...)

In 2000, a California nurse named Jennifer Lahl founded a nonprofit in the East Bay called The Center for Bioethics and Culture Network. CBCN is dedicated to educating the public about the troubling bioethical issues unfolding in the modern medical field.

Although she had no previous experience in filmmaking, Lahl managed to raise some money and set out to create a documentary. The resulting film, Lines That Divide, explored the stem-cell research debate, highlighting its terrifying connection to human cloning, and revealing how it required vast quantities of human eggs in order for the research to progress. As she began to write and speak publicly about egg donation and its risks, Lahl started to receive emails from women who had been harmed by selling their eggs.

Most readers of this blog are aware of the deeply disturbing interview that the Salt and Light CEO, Fr. Thomas Rosica, conducted with ex-priest, Gregory Baum. It was my contention then, and even more so today, that Salt and Light is damaged goods with Fr. Rosica at the helm. Fr. Rosica never explained his strange interview; references of it being spirited off his somewhat panegyric Wikipedia entry.

Now, we hear -with great sadness - that Salt and Light is suing a group of Catholics, the Foundation for Love and Life. It is ironic that this wonderful group of Catholics, who have suffered so much for the Faith under evil despots in Red China, should have to undergo such a trial here in Canada.  (more...)

A former surgeon at the hospital where Jimmy Savile had an office has been accused of sexually abusing a patient from the age of four.

Bruce Bailey, who worked at the world-renowned Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Buckinghamshire, allegedly attacked the girl while reading her bedtime stories.

She says the plastic surgeon, who died in 2001, then raped her when she was 11 as she waited to have an operation.

Bailey is believed to have known paedophile DJ and TV presenter Savile, the Sunday Mirror reported today.

Bailey's alleged victim, now in her 50s, said the abuse took place at a time when she underwent more than 100 ­operations.

'The first time I was abused by Mr Bailey was when I was just four,' she said. 'I remember being completely ­terrified and confused.  (more...)

I. RECAP. It seems Part 2 of this analysis of SPU/V2 2012 conference attendees will be subdivided even further, with this one and a few more posts, until the conclusions finally come in Part 3. True, overextended, tangents here and there. Although, a lot of subject matter pertaining to Catholic Canada is covered therein and thereabouts. So, perhaps, readers might consider these longwinded posts as an ongoing Chronicle of Catastrophe. In Part 1 we looked at the conference's keynote speakers, that one being a kind of continuation of Ominous Signs, which examined the apostate cesspool that is the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops. Part 2a covered some of Professor Catherine Clifford's heretical notions as inspirited by Vatican II, then a summary of Modernism and its principles, ending with a discussion on Bernard Lonergan's transcendental Thomism. Part 2b examined "collegiality" as endorsed by Clifford, followed by a summary of the hydra-headed Neo-Catholic menace, finishing with the internet's role in the Catholic conversation. Part 2c sidetracked, evaluating the increasingly disturbing aspects of the Bergoglio papacy, plus glance at Michael Coren's Neo-Catholic showmanship and of his "welcome" of sodomites into seminaries.

II. SHOWMAN SUPPORTS FAGGOTRY (AGAIN). Recently in another column, again in Catholic Insight, Coren upholds (inadvertently?) the homolobby, this time with regard so-called "same sex marriage".
