I recently spoke at one of my favourite independent bookstores in Toronto, Another Story Bookshop. I had been invited by the United Jewish People's Order, Canada's oldest Jewish organisation and the group Librarians and Archivists with Palestine. The reading group were discussing the memoir of Palestinian activist, Ahed Tamimi, They Call Me A Lioness. Since they were discussing Ahed, I thought I would tell the tale of how Ahed and I became connected through lies and media obfuscation masked as context and neutrality.
