South Africa’s High Commissioner Moe Schaik, Palestine’s representative Mona Abuamara, former UN Rapporteur Richard Falk, Palestinian human rights advocate Wesam Ahmad and professor Avi Lewis participated in a press conference to call on Canada to endorse South Africa’s request for the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to make an urgent order declaring Israel in breach of its obligations under the Genocide Convention.
