The Visit of Pope John Paul II to Majdanek

In the next post dedicated to the visit of John Paul II to the area of Majdanek, we present an extraordinary film created in 1987. The former prisoner of the Gestapo Pawiak prison and the German concentration camps in Lublin and Auschwitz, Wanda Ossowka, describes her meeting with the Holy Father on the grounds of Majdanek. According to the schedule, she was supposed to only give the pope a bunch of flowers. Spontaneously, however, she spoke to the Holy Father on behalf of all the former prisoners of Majdanek. These moments, together with the short and spontaneous speech of John Paul II, can be found in the clip.
