We discussed an article in The Walrus last year which brought to light research that indicated Ferdinand Eckhardt, the director of the Winnipeg Art Gallery from 1953 to 1974, was a committed supporter of Adolf Hitler and the Third Reich. We cover Eckhardt's biography, how he came to Canada, and what Canadian institutions are doing in response to the revelations about Eckhardt's past.
