U of T hosted a colloquium in applied AI research with guest speakers from Israeli universities. TSSP comrades were told by an organizer of the event that it was funded by an anonymous donor with the explicit condition that speakers must be invited from Israeli universities. We demand that U of T cut ties with these universities, and does not accept donations or host events that normalize relations with academic institutions complicit in genocide.
The IOF has been using AI systems and AI enabled weapons in the ongoing genocide of Gaza, many of which come from tight partnerships with Israeli academic institutions.
