Survey: Sex-Ed Not Popular

Forty-nine per cent of local voters oppose Ontario's new sex-ed curriculum.

(Regional) - Beginning this year, Ontario kids are getting more details about the birds and the bees at school.

The province's expanded sex education curriculum kicked in September for grades 1 to 12 students, much to the chagrin of most parents.

Bayshore Broadcasting News asked if you support the new sex-ed curriculum, and results were nearly split.

Of the hundreds of votes, 49 per cent oppose the plan, saying it should be up to parents when and how much children learn about sex.  (more...)
