What has happened to the Archdiocese of Toronto's pastoral plan?

We recently received a letter from the Archdiocese of Toronto dated June 23, 2015. The letter essentially asks for a donation to the Church but refers to it as keeping "parishioners informed about issues to estate planning and the many tax-smart and creative ways so they can support their parishes and Archdiocesan charities." It's a request for money through estate planning. Here's the actual letter signed by Mr. Quentin Schesnuik:
Dear Lou Iacobelli:
Please find enclosed the latest edition of "Your Catholic Legacy," the estate planning newsletter from the Development Office of the Archdiocese of Toronto. We are happy to bring you stories, updates and useful tips on matters that may affect your Will or estate planning. As always, the newsletter is written from a Catholic perspective.  (more...)

Perhaps it's an opportune time to recollect how assiduously the Archdiocese has striven to guard the purity, innocence, and sanctity of our children and uphold high stardards of education in our Catholic schools.
