Scores of students, parents protest sex-ed curriculum outside south Windsor school


A day after nearly 2,400 elementary and 226 secondary school students more than usual were absent from the public system, a noisy group of over 200 parents and students unhappy with Ontario’s new sex education curriculum gathered outside Northwood Public Elementary School Tuesday protesting they will not slip quietly away.

The ‘Parent and Student Strikes’ are part of a weeklong protest campaign against the new curriculum taking place in many Ontario communities this week.

“Muslims have no issue with sex,” said Aqeel Al-Zaiyadi, who has withdrawn his two children from Marlborough school this week.
