Port Hope teacher charged over alleged sexual encounters with student

PORT HOPE, Ont. – A 54-year-old female teacher is facing sex charges involving a student at a Port Hope, Ont., school.

Leslie Ellen Barton of Peterborough, Ont., is charged with sexual exploitation and sexual assault.

Police say a former female student at Trinity College School alleges an inappropriate relationship and sexual encounters with the teacher occurred in 2011 both on and off campus.  (more...)
