From May 5 to May 9 (before school is out, so the students will be missing school), 100 students across Toronto will be participating in the Jer's Vision GSA Forum. This event, which seems to have the support of Ontario's Catholic teachers' union (and unsurprisingly, the support of the TDSB) will train students to run GSAs in their schools and communities.
According to the schedule, the event begins on Monday afternoon with a "2 spirit welcome." A two-spirited person (which students learn about in grade three now, thanks to Kathleen Wynne) is a transgendered Aboriginal. The event also features a welcome ceremony with Kristyn Wong-Tam, the communist Toronto city councillor who supports Queers Against Israeli Apartheid and condones public nudity in front of children.
