But realistically, how can the public know if that’s true?
The Liberals said the cost of canceling their unpopular Mississauga gas plant prior to the 2011 election was $190 million.
Instead, the auditor general found it was $275 million.
The Liberals said the cost of canceling their unpopular Oakville gas plant prior to the 2011 election was $40 million.
Months later, the Ontario Power Authority put it at $310 million.
Auditor General Bonnie Lysyk is expected to release her report on the costs — which many believe will be higher — within weeks.
Given the Liberals’ cozy relationship with the teacher unions, surely the public has further reasons to be skeptical. (more...)
