Is this Canada?: Catholic High School Activists Seek Approval for ‘Gay-Straight’ Clubs

Some students are calling on their Catholic high schools to approve the formation of Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) clubs, according to the Ballard News Tribune.

A group calling itself Catholic Schools GSA has created a petition at Change.org asking Archbishop J. Peter Sartain as well as numerous school leaders to allow GSAs in diocesan high schools. The petition has garnered more than 600 signatures.

It asks the archdiocese to allow GSAs “for the well-being of all your students.”  (more...)
