VANCOUVER -- The B.C. Supreme Court has tossed out the suspension of a former Richmond and Vancouver teacher who had his certificate withheld after historic sexual allegations resurfaced.
The Richmond School Board first suspended Robert John Robertson, 62, in 1976 for allegations that he had "engaged in inappropriate sexual relationships with three students," according to the court decision posted Tuesday.
He resigned several days later, but applied and was accepted as a teacher in Vancouver the following month, allegedly without disclosing the details of what he was being investigated for, the decision said.
His employment in Vancouver as a substitute teacher continued until 2006. (more...)
