America’s ‘porn professor’ attempts suicide in latest stunt
The California community college professor who recently announced that he will no longer teach a course called “Navigating Pornography” attempted suicide on Thursday night.
Pasadena City College professor Hugo Schwyzer was visiting his mother in Monterey, on Central California’s Pacific coast, when he tried to take his own life, reports L.A. Weekly. He has since been placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold at a local hospital.
“I took an entire bottle of Klonapin,” Schwyzer told the Weekly.
Klonapin is a muscle-relaxing drug typically used to treat seizures, panic disorder and anxiety.
Schwyzer, 46, had claimed this week that he had become an emotional wreck in need of therapy due to public outrage and pressure from his college administrators to drop “Navigating Pornography.” (more...)
