Internet chat room bust nabs 700 suspected pedophiles
One of history's single biggest busts of online sexual predators took place in 2007 - and Canadian police work was critical to the success of the operation.
An Internet chat room called "Kids the Light of Our Lives" that featured images of children being subjected to horrific sexual abuse - and also included live videos available for streaming - was infiltrated by police posing as pedophiles.
By the time investigators had finished 31 children had been rescued and more than 700 suspects rounded up worldwide.
A total of 24 Canadian suspects were caught up in the global operation and seven children in the country among those rescued. (more...)
