The sign on the vehicles and uniforms of Russian forces in the Ukrainian operation has become a rallying point for pro-Kremlin supporters. The ban on the symbol however, signals concern in Berlin that such supporters may be numerous.
In response to this, German politicians have reverted to satirical mode: After Bavaria and Lower Saxony, other federal states – Berlin and North Rhine-Westphalia notably – now want to criminalize the public display of the letter “Z”.
Against the background of the ongoing Ukraine hysteria, politicians believe the “Z” is unwelcome support for Russian military action in Ukraine. The Russian units operating in Ukraine are marked with the “Z”. Although there has been some speculation, the exact meaning of the marking is not yet known.
“Anyone who uses the ‘Z’ symbol to publicly express their approval of Russian President Putin’s war of aggression against Ukraine must expect criminal consequences in Lower Saxony,” Lower Saxony’s Interior Minister Pistorius (SPD) said on Friday. Pistorius added: “It is absolutely incomprehensible to me how the stylized ‘Z’ can be used even here to condone these crimes.”
According to the Ministry of the Interior in Hanover, the public use of the letter “Z” during demonstrations could now be a criminal offense and be considered a disturbance of the public peace. Purging the alphabet: Germany cracks down on the letter ‘Z’
As I’ve mentioned on Western Standard previously, I’ve known Ontario MPP Randy Hillier for about 20 years. I’ve found myself in agreement with him on every important issue I can think of over that time. The pandemic was no exception. I admired his courage in publicly opposing Ontario’s official government narrative about lockdowns, mask mandates and vaccination mandates. I applauded his denunciation of the tyrannical federal policies that led to the Ottawa Freedom Convoy.
Therefore, when I received a message early Monday morning (March 28) saying that Randy was being charged with nine Criminal Code offences (see image below) and would be surrendering to the Ottawa police that day, I was alarmed. I knew he had been accumulating provincial charges for various No More Lockdowns protests he had organized and attended around the province, but sources have been telling me that many charges of this kind are being delayed and ultimately dropped by prosecutors who don’t want to face a well-thought-out Charter challenge.

The recent, pandemic-ridden years have involved a steep and often traumatic learning curve for many citizens across the Trans Atlantic. One particularly shocking revelation that has ripped virally across the internet in recent days revolves around the revelations that the World Economic Forum’s ‘Young Global Leaders’ have been positioned across western governments and powerful private institutions over the past three decades.

As important as it is to hold this disturbing fact in mind, it is even more important not to lose sight of the deeper historical forces at play and the older institutional practice of talent searching young blood upon which the YGL Program is based.
Just as Klaus Schwab was never his own man, having been trained by his mentors Maurice Strong (co-founder of the WEF) [1] and his Harvard mentor Henry Kissinger, so too were Klaus’ Young Leaders merely a modern version of an older practice that has been at play for over 114 years. This older institution is the Rhodes Scholarship system and the associated Round Table Movement, which created both Chatham House in 1919 and its American branch, dubbed “The Council on Foreign Relations,” in 1921.
This program has been incredibly influential and has also generated immense damage over the last century. Derek Brouwer owns a small fleet of trucks for his business, transporting hay from Southern Ontario, down into the United States. He was interviewed on Fox news recently for the blow back that he received for having a truck in Ottawa during the Emergency Measures Act.
I spoke to Derek over the phone to get the rest of his story.
When a neighbour asked him if he wanted to be in the convoy, Derek’s drivers got busy attaching flags to the trucks. One of his trucks was in Florida at the time. The other two drove with the convoy, starting at Drumbo, Ontario. One went to Toronto, and the other to Ottawa. In Ottawa the truck and driver were ushered, by police, to a front row parking space by the parliament buildings.
Derek said he was quite optimistic at the start, he was just waiting for the Prime Minister to come out and talk to them. Especially since Trudeau had told Prime Minister Modi, little more than a year ago to open up dialogue with the Indian farmers, who had protested for 12 months, it seemed like a reasonable request.
“At first it was like hanging out at a truck show,” he said. “Lots of people came by to say ‘hi’, and offer me or my drivers a thank you for being there. I let the young guys go on the weekends,” Derek explained. “I took my turn when it was more quiet during the week. Yeah, they took the garbage cans away, and locked the shops up, and anywhere you could go to the bathroom. We were there that first weekend of Jan 29th, and for about 23 days, I think. When the police got pushy and violence started happening on Saturday, Feb 19th, I heard that drivers were being pulled out of the trucks and beaten up pretty bad, so I told my driver to leave the truck there, unlocked, and just get himself out. With all the people and panic, the last thing I wanted was to try moving the truck and have the wheels unknowingly roll over someone in the street.”
The police were nice all the way through the protest, right up until the end, Brouwer relates. He didn’t have much contact with police himself, but did at one point have an affable conversation with an officer about the eternal (centennial) flame, and why it had been extinguished.
The only notice they got that the trucks would be have to be moved were unsigned papers left in a bunch of truck windows…for all you could tell it could have been a prank, because no jurisdiction or official authority was listed on the notice. In fact, it was a little strange, because the concrete barricades had been blocking everything for some time, and the police had just opened them and waved more trucks into Wellington Street, the ones that had been parked on side streets and such, on Feb 15th which was pretty strange. Brouwer was keeping an eye on the situation with the Emergency Act, and decided to move some money to his Florida bank account, through a signed cheque, that Tuesday. (more...)

Music and games animated the day despite the snowstorm that was starting. The demonstrators even created a human chain along René-Lévesque boulevard to show how they are united by this cause.

One of the attorneys assisting Reiner Fuelmich in proving world leaders have committed crimes against humanity in the name of Covid-19, has been arrested in France on suspicion of terrorism and treason.
Virginie de Araujo Recchia, a French attorney living in France who is participating in the work of the Citizen Jury with Reiner Fuellmich, was arrested in her home at dawn on March 22nd in front of her children. The arrest comes three weeks before ahead of the French presidential elections.
Fuellmich’s team have allegedly been informed the charges involve counterterrorism and possibly treason, and relate to the passionate work she does for the French people as well as the world, in fighting to restore our God-given rights.
At the beginning of the year, Virginie de Araujo Recchia, in partnership with her colleague Jean-Pierre Joseph, and two other jurists, filed a complaint before the head of the investigating judges on behalf of the associations BonSens.org, AIMSIB and the Collectif des Maires Résistants (Collective of Resistant Mayors) against the parliamentarians who validated a law on mandatory Covid-19 vaccination in August 2021.
This law forced millions of professionals to undergo experimental gene therapy or risk losing their jobs.

A week after Rebel News reported on his connections to the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Peter Jüni announced he's taking a job at Oxford University in England.
The media continues to amplify the “experts” at the Ontario Science Table (OST) without disclosing their declared conflicts of interest. Those same experts lobby and advise the Ontario government on pandemic policy unchecked. Oddly enough, a mere week after I reported on the directors’ conflicts, he announced his resignation from the OST and subsequent plans to leave the country.
In a report that I did that went out on March 7, 2022 outlining Dr. Peter Jüni, the scientific director of the OST and his conflicts of interest, I highlighted his connections to the medical biotechnology space and pharmaceutical industries.
These connections appear mostly in the form of grants and funding contributions to his employer, St. Michael’s Hospital and the University of Toronto, which fall under the umbrella of Unity Health Toronto. Dr. Jüni is paid around $300,000 dollars a year by this institution.

Are Governments Across the “Five Eyes” Using Hypnosis Against Citizens?

The Freedom Convoy, and now the war between Ukraine and Russia, have monopolized and are still currently monopolizing people’s attention. In this storm of events, we forgot to mention that François Amalega, the freedom fighter from Quebec, is still in prison, and has been for nearly six weeks now.
The legacy media in Canada is every bit as dishonest and corrupted as you and I suspect. Last month when True North broke the story of Deputy PM Chrystia Freeland holding a Nazi banner at a Ukrainian rally in Toronto, a handful of legacy media reporters picked up our scoop.
Most wrote their stories according to Freelend’s Liberal spin – that Freeland had done nothing wrong, the any critics of the Liberals were spreading “Russian disinformation” and that True North’s journalists were to blame for writing this story.
So much for holding a powerful politician accountable for her reckless actions.
The legacy media didn’t even bother to point out the hypocrisy given that the Liberals accused the Conservatives of “standing with those who wave Swastikas” at the Trucker rally.
One rare and honest legacy media story came from iPolitics, who accurately recounted the events and blamed Freeland for her blunder.
Interestingly, a few hours later, iPolitics issued a “correction” and changed the tone of the story to reflect the legacy media groupthink. Blame should not be aimed at the powerful woman holding the Nazi banner, it should be aimed at those talking about it!
True North has learned that the “correction” was issued after interference from Freeland’s office – who “pressured” iPolitics to change the story.

Canada’s Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland furnishes an interesting case study in an apparently contradictory dynamic of incompetence and competence. As a high-ranking minister, she is clearly incompetent, having, for example, nearly deep-sixed our NAFTA treaty talks with Donald Trump. Her insistence on the inclusion of “progressive” policies, such as gender equality, labor union safeguards, a chapter dedicated to indigenous peoples, and favored environmental standards only ensured that Canada got the short end of the renewed accord. Her attempt to enact Liberal policy was politically inept.
She also exhibits a sentimental tendency to tear up at critical moments. She is famous for walking out of the EU Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement with Canada, fighting back tears—though as former NDP Premier Bob Rae tweeted in Freeland’s patronizing defense, “Crying is not a sign of weakness, it is a natural emotional response to a lot of different situations.” Her valediction to her conference confrères was risible beyond belief. “Canada is disappointed, I am personally very disappointed, I have worked very, very hard. We have decided to go back home. I am very, very sad, really. Tomorrow morning, I will be at home with my three children.” So there!
Being on the verge of tears for not getting her way with a team of alpha males is not how the representative of a G7 nation in the midst of a tough bargaining session is expected to behave. Rather, we are witnessing the hoary cliché of the spoiled little girl whose wishes Daddy has denied, but who will eventually pout her way through any setback. This is Canada’s finance minister.
As a member of Klaus Schwab’s World Economic Forum’s board of directors, however, she is not only competent but formidable. Some sites, like Military Wiki, Gateway Pundit, and others, have speculated that a compromised ancestry is at work. According to these sources, Freeland’s maternal grandfather Mykhailo Khomiak was the Nazi regime’s senior editor of the Ukrainian antisemitic daily newspaper Krakivs’ki visti (News of Krakow). But the past need not be prelude to the present. An individual is certainly not responsible for the sins of the father—or the grandfather—and I don’t want to indulge in baseless assumptions. Freeland is her own person and deserves to be evaluated on her own merits, as we all do.
What is far more significant as a basis for judgment is current behavior. Her response to the famous trucker convoy in Ottawa, legally and peacefully protesting the government’s punitive COVID-19 mandates, was nothing if not totalitarian in nature. Freeland stated that banks would be able to freeze personal accounts of anyone linked with the protests without any need for a court order. The same would apply to vehicle insurance of anyone involved with the demonstrations. Freeland went on to say that Canada’s Terrorist Financing Rules were being broadened to cover cryptocurrencies and crowdfunding platforms and that she plans to make her emergency powers permanent. Ottawa police intervened with the demonstrations, proclaiming that according to the rules of Parliament Hill, any message that is obscene, offensive, or promotes hatred is prohibited.
On last night's episode of The Ezra Levant Show, Ezra discussed how while the Trudeau Liberals have been cavalierly slandering their political enemies as "Nazis," they've been arming and training and promoting actual paramilitary Nazi groups in Ukraine.
Americans once took great pride in the defeat of the Nazi scourge that threatened to run roughshod over the 20th century and beyond. Under the leadership of Franklin Roosevelt, America mobilized not only to heal from the devastation of the Great Depression, but also became a global leader of industrial power supplying the Allies with the tools they needed to fight the war before entering the fight herself in 1941.
Coming out of that scarring experience, there was great hope that the world would finally be raised out of the fires of imperialism, poverty and war. The UN charter enshrined Roosevelt’s Four Freedoms, respect for sovereignty and a mandate for economic cooperation into law giving hope that a new age of brotherhood was upon us.
Despite certain pushbacks by US Statesmen to the Anglo-American special relationship, and military industrial complex that began to take on a life of its own, FDR’s vision for world peace continued to die throughout the Cold War.
Perhaps it was allowing RAND Corp computer modelers to shape international policy, or perhaps it was the FBI-McCarthyite witch hunts and constant threat of global nuclear annihilation that caused once-courageous Americans to become gullible and fearful. Whatever the cause had been, the fact that major components of Hitler’s intelligence apparatus and unapologetic fascists were repurposed after the war to be used to combat Communism throughout the Cold War did not help. What Happened to America’s Anti-Fascist Traditions?
With global attention increasingly focusing on the deepening crisis in Ukraine, the steady drumbeat towards war is becoming ever more audible with each passing day. If the world is to avoid falling into the abyss of another catastrophic global conflict, it is crucial for us to learn and understand the lessons of history. While there are undoubtedly many factors that have led the world to this critical point in time, one of the most important ones continues to be ignored by the mainstream media. Despite what we are being told, the corporate driving forces behind the current crisis are precisely the same ones that led to the previous two global wars.
It is no coincidence that the escalation of the crisis in Ukraine comes at a time when, just as the world begins to transition away from polluting fossil fuels, soaring energy prices are forcing millions of people to choose between putting food on the table and heating their homes. Neither is it coincidental that the escalation towards war coincides with experimental mRNA- and DNA-based COVID-19 vaccines directing skyrocketing profits into the bulging pockets of the pharmaceutical industry.
It is already clear that a global transition away from fossil fuels will decimate the current business models of oil and gas producers. But what is less well understood is that the profits of the pharmaceutical industry are now equally at threat. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, drug company business models were on the brink of terminal decline. By 2018, researchers examining the industry were predicting that decreasing success rates in new drug development, rising clinical trial costs, and increasing competition from cheaper generic manufacturers could soon combine to result in pharmaceutical production no longer being a profitable business.
Couple this with a growing awareness of the potential risks and proven dangers of today’s experimental COVID-19 vaccines, and the fact that effective, safe, non-patentable approaches to controlling infectious diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer with vitamins and other natural substances now exist, and it becomes crystal clear that a viable transition away from pharmaceutical-based medicine lies ahead. Just like their counterparts in the oil and gas industries, however, the business models of drug companies would be decimated by such a development. This possibility makes the crisis in Ukraine all the more dangerous, as history shows us that oil and drug companies have in the past had close links to the perpetration of global wars. (more...)
Trudeau’s “everything minister,” is a second generation Canadian from Alberta who spent time in journalism before becoming the Liberal MP for Toronto’s University-Rosedale riding in 2015. She’s since served as the Trudeau Liberal government’s Minister of International Trade, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and in her current dual role as Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister.
Freeland’s maternal grandfather, one Micheal Chomiak, also held important positions in journalism and politics, having been the chief editor of Krakivs’ki Visi (News of Krakow), a propaganda apparatus of the Nazi party during the pre-war and war years, from Krakow, and later from Vienna.
That part isn’t news, of course. Both the progressive and mainstream press have been all over it for years, in spite of Freeland’s efforts to obscure and re-characterize the work of her grandfather, who she was quite fond of.
Canadians might be inclined to write off Freeland’s Nazi heritage, “sins of the father…” and all that, if not for her persistent denials and counter-measures. Freeland has been adamant that it isn’t true! Insisting that it’s all a Russian misinformation campaign aimed at destabilizing Ukrainian democracy, which seems plausible, but it isn’t misinformation if it is true. Freeland’s Ukrainian heritage is important to her. According to McLean’s John Geddes she co-owns an apartment in Kiev with her sister. She worked hard during her tenure as Minister of Foreign Affairs to prevent the Russian invasion of Ukraine, sending Canadian troops to train a Ukrainian battalion of soldiers who are way into that kind of National Socialism. When asked about why they were training modern Nazis, the Department of Defense explained to the Ottawa Citizen that Canadian Armed Forces don’t actually do any vetting of the foreign armies they train before they train them which… oh.
