Dandy peer and the sex trial that changed Britain

The obligatory bimbos, err, feminists
By the time of his death yesterday, aged 88, Lord Montagu of Beaulieu was one of the great pillars of the British Establishment — a peer, descended from dukes and marquesses, who could have stepped straight out of the pages of a P. G. Wodehouse novel.

‘I was born lucky,’ he admitted. ‘Good-looking, well-connected, tolerably well-off as well as having a title which had and still has an irresistible ring to it.’

Born Edward Douglas-Scott-Montagu, he lived in a 13th-century stately home in Beaulieu, Hampshire, which had been in his family since 1538.

The treasures on his 9,000-acre estate include the British National Motor Museum, among the greatest car collections in the world. One of the few hereditary peers to remain in the House of Lords, he was head of countless heritage organisations and charities.

A flamboyant dandy who wore a fur coat and old-fashioned racing goggles when driving, he was a regular at society parties, as happy to hobnob with the likes of Diana Dors and Liberace as royalty.

But Lord Montagu never sought his best-known claim to fame. In 1954, he was jailed for homosexual sex.  (more...)

Organizers ready for massive Ontario-wide sex-ed protest this Wednesday

TORONTO, August 31, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) – Ontario parents will be protesting on September 2 in nearly 100 of the 107 ridings across the province, demanding that their local MPPs work to repeal the Liberal government’s radical sex-ed curriculum set to roll out in the province’s publicly funded school this September.

Premier Kathleen Wynne’s “total disregard for the concerns of hundreds of thousands of parents is completely unacceptable, and if she doesn’t want to listen to parents, hopefully the Members of Provincial Parliament who represent them will,” said Christina Liu, a mom and President of the Parents Alliance of Ontario.

Yvonne Dienesch, organizer for the rally in the Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke riding, agrees.  (more...)

The Edu-Racket Bites: Government set to ramp up collections efforts for student loans

The Canadian release -- regret your mispent youth?

Hundreds of thousands of university and college students walking onto campuses this week with help from federal loans could find themselves targeted harder than ever to repay billions of dollars in loans and grants.

Employment and Social Development Canada, which oversees the Canada Student Loans program, has set more aggressive collection targets after feeling pressure from its political masters to stem the rising amount of student debt the government must write off each year, an amount that topped $300-million just two years ago.

The push to increase collection results – and the detailed work plan to do so – are outlined in internal government documents from last fall.

The government annually has to write off some of the $16-billion owing in student loans for a number of reasons: a debtor may file for bankruptcy, the debt itself passes a six-year legal limit on collection, or the debtor can’t be found.  (more...)

Quebec to introduce sex ed pilot project with 'no exemptions'

Education on sexual matters is too important to be optional, according to Quebec's Ministry of Education.

The province is rolling out a new pilot project in which sex education, like French and mathematics, will soon become mandatory for all students from kindergarten to the last year of high school, regardless of the religious or personal convictions of parents across different cultural communities.

No exceptions will be made.

The sexuality education pilot project, which will begin in the next few days in about 15 schools, will last two years. The program, which will affect 8,200 students, could be adopted by schools across the province in 2017.

However, documents obtained by The Canadian Press, as well a series of interviews conducted in recent weeks, show that approval for the program is far from unanimous.  (more...)

The global human rights education project: a Trojan horse

Protesters under Trojan Horse
The “global human rights education project” is a collective term for a worldwide rights-advocacy campaign through both formal and non-formal education channels. Amnesty International (AI), a major actor in human rights education (HRE), describes HRE on its website ) as  “a deliberate, participatory practice aimed at empowering individuals, groups and communities through fostering knowledge, skills and attitudes consistent with internationally recognized human rights principles.”

Sounds innocuous – laudable, even – until one takes a long, hard look at how it defines and applies those ‘principles’.

The legal basis for “universal” human rights is fragmented and weak. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and the UN Declaration on Human Rights Education and Training, being UN General Assembly resolutions, have no legal force. Most international human rights treaties are toothless tigers. The International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights is non-judiciable. The Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women is hamstrung by the numerous reservations nation-states entered (those who signed up at all).

This list can be added to at leisure. Unless incorporated into domestic law, “universal” human rights are more in the realm of whims than hard law.

HRE crusaders nonetheless doggedly pursue their global agenda.  (more...)

Marriage Is Our Future

The rights and well-being of children are imperative to a thriving society, and the best way to protect children is to promote marriage.

Adoption-for-cash scheme took newborns from mothers

A man working in the Sonora child protection agency colluded with a doctor to sell newborns into adoption by using false birth certificates. The suspect targeted vulnerable mothers, poor people or women with drug problems and took away their babies.

A child welfare official in northern Mexico took at least nine babies from poor or drug-addicted mothers and offered them to adoptive parents in exchange for payments ranging from $5,000 dollars to $9,000 dollars, authorities said Friday.

Raúl Ramírez, the head of the Sonora state Human Rights Commission, said the scheme apparently went on for years and may involve many more children.

“They searched for vulnerable mothers, poor people or those who had problems of drug addiction, and took away their babies and offered them in adoption in return for money,” Ramírez said.

Three of the babies have been identified and recovered, but Ramírez said “there may be many more, from years back, and some of these children could be 20 years old by now.”  (more...)

Forget the facts, just keep the transgender "happy"

Human Rights Foundation: When "equality" is not equal for all
Political correctness marches on. We must keep the transgender "happy" and never let the facts get in the way. Resources put out in a campaign by the American Human Rights Foundation are doing just that. The Foundation is said to have some 700,000 members and is one of the largest groups promoting the LGTB issues in the United States. The push is get rid of stereotypes by no longer using words like "boy" and "girl" in schools. This is suggested in order to avoid division among students. All language in the classrooms should be "gender inclusive." Schools must make sure that nobody, in particular transgender students, will be singled out. It's all done in the name of creating Welcoming Schools and to meet America's Common Core State Standards.  In Ontario, the government passed legislation, Bill 13, and called it the Accepting Schools Act to achieve similar ends and create "safe and accepting schools."

The whole idea is to move away from identifying students as one of two sexes, male or female, boy or girl. Instead, the politically correct way to do it, according to this group, is to just to drop the words boys and girls and use in their place "friends," "scholars" and "students." The misguided thinking is based on the idea that in changing the words we use to refer to students will change the facts and the reality they stand for.  (more...)

Britain's Apologists For Child Abuse

Charles Napier, pictured in 2012 when he was convicted of 23 counts of abuse.
Napier had been treasurer of the group PIE
When it was discovered that Jimmy Savile, the television presenter and media personality, knighted for his charity work for sick and disabled children, was a prolific child abuser, the story of the true scale of child sexual abuse was finally acknowledged. The myth that child abuse is a rare occurrence committed by mentally-ill loners was put to bed. As more and more of Savile’s victims spoke out, so did those who had been abused by other celebrities in the 1970s, reassured that they would finally be believed.

But what was uncovered was sexual abuse of children not only by television personalities, but also by politicians and other so-called VIPs. There have been rumours for decades about a child abuse ring operating from Westminster, involving senior politicians, allegedly including Greville (now Lord) Janner, Cyril Smith, and the late Leon Brittan.

At the time of writing, numerous allegations concerning the former Prime Minister Sir Edward Heath have emerged. In the early 1980s, when I volunteered on a Rape Crisis line, I heard Heath’s name in relation to sexual offences against children from two separate callers, one year apart, with no connection to each other. Over the years I have heard from a number of child protection advocates and campaigners that it was “widely known” that Heath was involved in organised child abuse rings. Such evidence was of course circumstantial.  (more...)

1975 Video: CIA Admits to Congress the Agency Uses Mainstream Media to Distribute Disinfo

(Truthstream Media) It has been verified by a source who claims she was there that then-CIA Director William Casey did in fact say the controversial and often-disputed line “We’ll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false,” reportedly in 1981.

Despite Casey being under investigation by Congress for being involved in a major disinformation plot involving the overthrow of Libya’s Qaddafi in 1981, and despite Casey arguing on the record that the CIA should have a legal right to spread disinformation via the mainstream news that same year, this quote continues to be argued by people who weren’t there and apparently cannot believe a CIA Director would ever say such a thing.

But spreading disinfo is precisely what the CIA would — and did — do.

This 1975 clip of testimony given during a House Intelligence Committee hearing has the agency admitting on record that the CIA creates and uses disinformation against the American people.  (more...)

Adam Ant's father dragged into VIP child abuse probe

Adam Ant's father, Alfred Leslie Goddard (left), was jailed for preying on
runaway boys nearly 30 years ago
The father of pop star Adam Ant has been linked to shock allegations that VIP paedophiles including top politicians raped and murdered children in Westminster.

Alfred Leslie Goddard, whose son had a string of chart hits in the 1980s, was jailed for preying on runaway boys nearly 30 years ago.

The former council porter was a member of a gang that included Britain’s most notorious paedophile, Sidney Cooke, who was later convicted of the sadistic gang rape and killing of a teenage boy and is suspected of murdering many more.

Now it has emerged that detectives investigating shock allegations of three murders and systemic child sex abuse by senior Establishment figures are looking into Goddard’s possible involvement.

The suggestion is that the child sex ring, dubbed the Dirty Dozen and known to have targeted vulnerable youngsters, could have passed on their victims for the MPs to abuse.

Goddard’s links to the controversial Operation Midland were revealed by ex-Tory MP Harvey Proctor last week in his furious denunciation of police for treating him as a suspect on the basis of claims made by a single, unnamed alleged victim.

Mr Proctor said he had been asked by officers if he knew Goddard during a lengthy police interview last Monday, in which he was also accused of taking part in sick child abuse alongside former Prime Minister Edward Heath.  (more...)

Magic Circle: Scottish lawyer avoids investigation despite paedo allegations

Robert Henderson QC is alleged to have sexually abused his daughter
Robert Henderson QC is alleged to have sexually abused his daughter, Susie, over a period of many years and also allowed her to be raped by his friend, Sir Nicholas Fairbairn.

Ms Henderson first reported her claims to the police in 2000 and then again last year, with detectives now investigating the pair as part of the wider probe into historic child abuse.

However, research by the Sunday Express reveals the authorities were made aware of suspicions about Henderson decades earlier in the wake of his divorce from his first wife, Olga.

It is the first contemporary evidence that has ever emerged to support Miss Henderson's allegations against her father and his powerful friends.  (more...)

Police are still sifting items seized from raid on Harvey Proctor

Detectives are still examining items seized nearly six months ago in their raid of former Conservative MP Harvey Proctor’s home, Exaro can reveal.

The time spent on sifting through a large number of seized items is understood to be one reason why the police investigation into the ex-MP is taking so long.

Proctor called a press conference on Tuesday to denounce the police who, he explained, are investigating him over allegations of child sex abuse, torture and the murder of two boys, all of which he said are false claims. He called the police investigation a "homosexual witch-hunt".  (more...)

Politicians pan Catholic board’s decision to expropriate homes for school

Making way for future church feminists
Fiona Fu and her parents have lived in their modest Willowdale townhouse for 17 years. But on Thursday, the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) decided that the family’s townhouse, along with 16 others at Cummer and Bayview Aves., will be expropriated and razed to build a new high school.

This will cost the deficit-ridden school board at least $31 million. And although the move is being decried by municipal and provincial politicians, provincial legislation lets school boards take land without consent, so long as it is in the broader public interest and owners are compensated.

“It’s not about the money — we just want to stay in this home,” a disconcerted Fu said on Friday. “This is completely unjust.”

TCDSB spokesperson John Yan defended the board’s decision.

“We don’t expropriate on whims,” Yan told the Star on Friday. “We have no choice in this particular situation.”  (more...)

What's Wrong with LGBT Groups Pushing for Legalized Prostitution?

B.N. Klein and R.O. Lopez talk here about the worrying trend of gay groups, which not too long ago promised that gay marriage would not be a slippery slope to prostitution, fighting to legalize prostitution. Have they gone back on their word? It would seem so. But there are many other problems of exploitation and racism that have to be examined here beyond the question of broken promises.

Lord Janner will not be forced to attend court to face child abuse charges

Greville Janner will not be forced to attend crown court in person to face child abuse charges when the case comes up next week, it has been reported.

Proceedings against the former Labour peer, who has Alzheimer’s disease, are listed for 1 September at the Old Bailey, but sources have told the Press Association the presiding judge, Mr Justice Sweeney, will not require Janner to appear in person.

The 87-year-old is accused of 15 counts of indecent assault and seven counts of a separate sexual offence against a total of nine alleged victims over the 1960s, 70s and 80s.

Last month, Janner was forced to attend Westminster magistrates court for 59 seconds after a week-long legal wrangle over the issue. Escorted into court by his daughter and a minder, Janner laughed and said “Oooh, this is wonderful!” as he glanced at the packed public gallery.  (more...)

The CIA and the Media: 50 Facts the World Needs to Know

Since the end of World War Two the Central Intelligence Agency has been a major force in US and foreign news media, exerting considerable influence over what the public sees, hears and reads on a regular basis. CIA publicists and journalists alike will assert they have few, if any, relationships, yet the seldom acknowledged history of their intimate collaboration indicates a far different story–indeed, one that media historians are reluctant to examine.

When seriously practiced, the journalistic profession involves gathering information concerning individuals, locales, events, and issues. In theory such information informs people about their world, thereby strengthening “democracy.” This is exactly the reason why news organizations and individual journalists are tapped as assets by intelligence agencies and, as the experiences of German journalist Udo Ulfkotte (entry 47 below) suggest, this practice is at least as widespread today as it was at the height of the Cold War.

Consider the coverups of election fraud in 2000 and 2004, the events of September 11, 2001, the invasions Afghanistan and Iraq, the destabilization of Syria, and the creation of “ISIS.” These are among the most significant events in recent world history, and yet they are also those much of the American public is wholly ignorant of. In an era where information and communication technologies are ubiquitous, prompting many to harbor the illusion of being well-informed, one must ask why this condition persists.

Further, why do prominent US journalists routinely fail to question other deep events that shape America’s tragic history over the past half century, such as the political assassinations of the 1960s, or the central role played by the CIA major role in international drug trafficking?

Popular and academic commentators have suggested various reasons for the almost universal failure of mainstream journalism in these areas, including newsroom sociology, advertising pressure, monopoly ownership, news organizations’ heavy reliance on “official” sources, and journalists’ simple quest for career advancement. There is also, no doubt, the influence of professional public relations maneuvers. Yet such a broad conspiracy of silence suggests another province of deception examined far too infrequently—specifically the CIA and similar intelligence agencies’ continued involvement in the news media to mold thought and opinion in ways scarcely imagined by the lay public.  (more...)

Mean girls: Catholic school board to expropriate some North York homes

Ward 7 School Board Trustee Mike Del Grande
The Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) decided Thursday night that 17 townhomes in North York will need to be expropriated and razed to build a new high school on the site.

The meeting presented three options: to expropriate all 30 homes in the Bayview Ave. complex near Cummer Ave., adjacent to a former TDSB elementary school; to expropriate no homes; or only some homes.

A 6-4 vote went with the middle-ground option, determining that homeowners to the south would be allowed to keep their homes.

Residents were allowed 20 minutes in total to speak about their concerns, while others argued the need for a permanent home for the secondary school.  (more...)

College of teachers launches disciplinary case against Chris Spence

Chris Spence, already fighting the University of Toronto over alleged plagiarism in his doctoral thesis, is now the subject of a disciplinary hearing by the Ontario College of Teachers that alleges professional misconduct.

A notice of hearing has been posted on the website of the Ontario College of Teachers, though no formal date has been scheduled for the case.

It alleges he “failed to maintain the standards of the profession … he signed or issued, in his professional capacity, a document that he knew or ought to have known contained a false, improper or misleading statement” and that “he committed acts that, having regard to all the circumstances, would reasonably be regarded by members as disgraceful, dishonourable or unprofessional.”

Spence, a long-time educator, resigned as director of the Toronto District School Board in January 2013 after he admitted to plagiarizing part of an article submitted to the Toronto Star and after other allegations of unattributed material were made public.

The teachers’ college also says there are allegations of plagiarism in speeches, entries on his blog and his books. The Star found examples of similar material in his writing and sources as varied as the New York Times and Amazon.ca user reviews.  (more...)

Bringing Down America's Happiest Christian Cult

For decades, the freewheeling hippies of Jesus People USA —“God’s forever family” — forged one of the most influential movements in Christianity. They were also Jaime Prater’s family, until he made a documentary exposing the commune’s darkest secrets.

Usually, Jaime Prater felt excited on the first day of school. He’d get up early, put on the outfit he’d laid out the night before — he liked bow ties and sweater-vests — and hurry down the hall with the other kids in his building. But this morning in September 1989 felt different. This morning he was starting the eighth grade, and he felt something closer to dread.

For as long as he could remember, Prater had lived here among the Jesus People, about two blocks from the “L” train in Uptown Chicago. At first he had loved it, but things had changed since he turned 10. Lately he would lie awake at night, his window open to the muggy summer air, listening to the rattle of the train, and dream of escape.

Or he’d try to imagine the commune’s early years, back when they caravanned across the Midwest in an old school bus, the word “Jesus” painted in big, loopy letters on the side, winning souls for Christ. He loved hearing the stories from that time: the mass baptisms in the woods, the early members tracting at O’Hare among the Hare Krishnas, everyone strumming their guitars and singing early Christian rock back on the bus, enraptured with the glow of the Holy Spirit.

By the time Prater was born, the Jesus People had stopped touring and had transformed a dilapidated apartment building on Chicago’s North Side into the Friendly Towers, where all 400 of them lived in communal bliss, sharing meals, clothes, and pretty much everything else. They were God’s forever family, just like the Bible taught.

Prater’s dad had an Afro back then, and his mom spoke of Jesus, peace, and love to whoever would listen; they had been legit hippies, Prater liked to think. But now they were different, stooped and beaten down by middle age, resigned to their middling status in the commune’s rigid hierarchy: His mom taught in the Jesus People school, and his dad worked as a mechanic. Prater hoped for some other kind of job when he grew up — maybe helping with the Cornerstone Festival — but that wasn’t up to him. The nine-person leadership council, half of them blood-related, decided everything — even whom he’d marry.

He wanted to believe the council spoke for God, but already he had his doubts. He’d heard dark and ugly rumors about their founder, a bearded Messiah-like figure, and he’d heard stories that horrified him about the Farm, a remote and secluded resort in the Missouri woods. But he knew better than to ask about any of that.

And yet, for as much as he tried to keep his troubles to himself, something was amiss. For weeks, he’d caught his parents whispering about him. He figured it had something to do with the day one of the men in the commune touched him. Prater had tried to forget that moment, the feeling of terror that washed over him, the searing shame when it was over, but he couldn’t move past it. Since then, he had been acting out in strange ways, desires he couldn’t control aroused inside him. Eventually he told the council, and now he wished he’d never said anything at all.  (more...)

Why Spies? Uncovering the Appeal of Cinematic Secret Agents

Spy films have routinely titillated American audiences at least since the Cold War, and this year is no exception, with Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., American Ultra, Agent 47, and Spectre all hitting theaters. What is it about the secret agent that charms us? Two of the summer spy blockbusters, the fifth Mission Impossible and The Man from U.N.C.L.E., releasing as they did back-to-back, tell us something about the mysterious appeal of spies.

Yes, some appeal lies in the glamorous popular Hollywood portrayal: Bond-like spies have no lack of money, fancy gadgets, and missions in exotic locales. U.N.C.L.E's Napoleon Solo is suave, womanizing, and witty, with government funds and gadgetry at his disposal, and with the courage and cleverness to get out of anything. Mission Impossible 5’s Ethan Hunt likewise makes full use of over-the-top high-tech gadgets in elaborate chase scenes and break-ins, to out-wit the villains in dazzling European and colorful Middle Eastern cities.

But beyond the superficial 007-like qualities, secret agents appeal to American audiences on another level, too. Living in a world where justice is often hampered by bureaucracy, we like the idea of someone who is not bound by the traditional rules of operation; someone who can move outside the strict public structures of good and evil; someone belonging neither to the military nor the police and exempt from their rules, yet holding all their power and expertise.  (more...)

Harvey Proctor's accuser dismisses ex-MP's 'over-the-top theatrical performance'

Harvey Proctor
The Westminster abuse victim who accused Harvey Proctor of raping and murdering two children and helping kill a third has been left 'distressed' by the ex-MP's 'over-the-top' denial.

The child abuse survivor named only as 'Nick' is Scotland Yard's number one witness in its investigation into the alleged VIP paedophile gang of politicians, civil servants and diplomats.

In a press conference yesterday Harvey Proctor said Nick, who is a 'respectable businessman' now in his forties, has 'wrecked his life' and the reputation of eight others by naming them as members.

Critics have questioned why Operation Midland detectives probing abuse at Dolphin Square and the Elm Guest House appear to have hung their VIP child abuse investigation on Nick's testimony.

In an extraordinary press conference yesterday former MP Harvey Proctor branded the allegations against him 'ludicrous'.  (more...)

Sex Education Protest coming to North Bay

A group of concerned parents in Nipissing will be holding a protest outside Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli’s constituency office next Wednesday with the clear message that they want the curriculum scrapped.

The event will take place on September 2nd from 11 am to 12 pm at Fedeli’s office located at 165 Main Street East.

"Constituents will ask Fedeli, as their elected representative in Queen’s Park, to speak out publicly against the Liberal government’s sex ed curriculum," says local organizer Joe Sinicrope.

"Amongst other controversial lessons, the program will teach eight year olds that being a boy or a girl is merely a social construct, teachers may encourage 11-yr-olds to masturbate as a vehicle for self-discovery, and it will get 12 year olds thinking about 'anal intercourse', 'oral sex' and 'sexual pleasure'”, Sinicrope continued in a news release today.  (more...)

Miscamble's Most Miserable Morality

Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, dressed in somber hues walked behind a Shinto priest to the Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo where in late December 2013 he "paid his respects" as Time magazine reported.[1] The Yasukuni Shrine contains the Book of Souls which has the names of nearly two and a half million Japanese, to include more than 1,000 Japanese convicted of war crimes after World War II.[2] The American reaction was swift and severe. In the words of the Wall Street Journal, "a rare admonition" issued from the U.S. "'The United States is disappointed that Japan's leadership has taken an action that will exacerbate tensions with Japan's neighbors,' said the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo on its website, in an unusual direct criticism of Japan's leader by its main ally."[3] Abe's actions were something less than an unqualified denunciation of fellow Japanese the Americans deemed to be bad, something the conquerors still expected from the conquered nearly seventy years after Japanese surrender. But there was another and related problem with Abe's actions in the eyes of the Americans. By walking behind a priest of the Shinto religion, which had been the state religion of Japan until 1945 when the American occupiers disestablished it, Abe made clear the importance of Shintoism to the Japanese people and the Japanese state. His actions bore witness to the subordination of the material to the spiritual which is a principle of the natural law, something rejected by the ideology which defines America.

The social re-engineering put in place after the Japanese surrender and at the point of a bayonet, or the American equivalent of a bayonet, was starting to unravel. Japanese national, or ethnic, identity and pride was starting to manifest itself again, and just in time because Japan was suffering a national malaise that even its enemies noted. With a declining birthrate, symptomatic of severe social ills, the Japanese, by some accounts, were on their way to extinction. The seeds of this malaise were in the social re-engineering practiced on the Japanese by the Americans after the unconditional surrender of the Japanese government aboard a U.S. warship. The nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki lead to the Japanese total capitulation, but as new life sprang up unexpected, lush, and verdant in the atomic ash-heaps of Hiroshima and Nagasaki shortly after the attacks, new life was stirring the Japanese soul about seventy years later, and there really was nothing the Americans could do about it. The actions of Abe, imperfect as they may be, evince a desire of the Japanese leadership to have their people live, life comes from on high, and saying yes to life is cooperating with the Almighty. New life is creation, it is love, it is all part of the order of the universe, or, as the editor of this magazine and the Evangelist St. John might put it, part of Logos.  (more...)

Votes For Women

Professor Janice Fiamengo from the University of Ottawa discusses how feminists have re-written history to exclude Male Suffrage from the public consciousness to such a degree that most people believe that all men always had the right to vote. Even university students and professors believe that men withheld womens' voting rights for thousands of years.

Women are not Shrinking Violets

(Ottawa)  A number of women’s groups are trying to drum up a debate during the election on so-called “women’s” issues. Such a debate does not and will never represent “women” in Canada.

All women are important, and that’s the difficulty with the proposed debate.

The groups requesting the debate have their own agenda, which certainly does not represent the views and aspirations of most women. Rather, they represent the special interest group of feminists only.

Women’s views differ according to their social, economic, religious and cultural backgrounds, the same as men. As no men’s group can claim that it represents the views of all males in Canada, similarly, these feminist groups cannot claim that their ideological views represent the voice of all Canadian women.  (more...)

Former teacher Barton pleads guilty to sex charge

COBOURG - A former Trinity College School teacher will not serve further jail time after pleading guilty to a charge of sexual exploitation in regards to an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Leslie Barton, 54, from Peterborough was charged with sexual exploitation and sexual assault on Feb. 12, 2015 after a former student came forward with allegations.

The guilty plea followed judicial pre-trials with counsel regarding the case. The sexual assault charge was withdrawn from court.

Barton plead guilty to the charge on July 20, 2015 in front of Justice R.W. Beninger and in a rare move, Barton went into custody to serve her sentence, which at that time, hadn’t been given.  (more...)

Global pedophile ‘dark net’ bulletin board busted from Australia

A 10-month operation by an Australian police anti-pedophile taskforce put an end to a global ‘dark net’ of child abusers that had 45,000 members. An Australian administering a pedophile ‘bulletin board’ was sentenced to 35 years in jail for child abuse.

Queensland's Taskforce Argos targeting child abuse disclosed a clandestine pedophile ring, saving potentially hundreds of children from sexual exploitation, reports the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).

Members of the ring residing in Australia, Europe, United Kingdom and the US ranked inside the network in accordance with the quantity and originality of materials they uploaded for common use inside the site. The name of the network, using encryption software to hide identities and mask people's browsing history, has not been publicly disclosed by a South Australian District Court.

Investigation of a global child abuse led Argos to Australian national ringleader, who turned out to be Families SA (South Australia) employee Shannon McCoole from Adelaide. He was childcare worker with the agency from 2011 to 2014.  (more...)

St. Theodore the Studite, and the “Synod of Adultery”

“The Synod of Adultery” an assembly of Bishops in the 9th century, made history when they wanted to approve the praxis of  a second marriage after the repudiation of a legitimate wife.  St. Theodore the Studite, (759-826) was the one who opposed it the most vigorously and for this was persecuted, imprisoned and exiled three times.

It all started in January 795, when the Roman Emperor of the East (Basileus) Constantine  VI (771-797) had his wife Maria of Armenia locked up in a monastery and began an illicit union with Theodora, the lady-in-waiting to his mother, Irene.  A few months later the Emperor had her proclaimed “Augusta”  Theodora, but being unable to convince the Patriarch Tarasios (730-806) to celebrate the new wedding, he finally found a minister willing to do so in the priest Joseph, hegumen (head) of the Monastery of Kathara on the Island of Ithaca, who officially blessed the adulterous union.

St. Theodore, born in Constantinople in 759, was at that time a monk in the Monastery of Saccudium in Bithynia, where his uncle Plato was the Abbot.  He was also venerated as a saint. Theodore reports that the unjust divorce produced great perturbation in the entire Christian population  (more...)

'VIP gang accused of three murders': I was quizzed about Heath, spy chiefs and Army bosses

Former Tory MP Harvey Proctor yesterday sensationally reeled off Establishment figures accused of being in a VIP paedophile gang.

They included former Prime Minister Ted Heath and former Home Secretary Leon Brittan.

Mr Proctor, 68, claimed detectives had asked him about the men during interviews about alleged abuse – and even murder – of children at Westminster sex parties in the 1980s.

All the allegations have been made by a man known only as ‘Nick’, whom police have described as ‘credible’.

The abuse is alleged to have happened at Dolphin Square and at the Carlton Club – both in London.

Here the Mail looks at the six prominent figures named by Mr Proctor at the extraordinary press conference:  (more...)

Archbishop Cordileone’s Teacher Contract Successfully Affirms Catholic Values

After months of harassment and nasty criticism by opponents of Catholic moral teaching—including dissident groups like Call to Action, politicians, and even many Catholic school teachers—Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone has successfully reached a contract agreement with high school teachers in the Archdiocese of San Francisco.

While the contract language is not as strong as many other diocesan employment documents, Archbishop Cordileone prevailed in expressing the important moral responsibilities that teachers must accept while working at a Catholic school, says Dr. Dan Guernsey, director of K-12 education programs for The Cardinal Newman Society.  (more...)

Secret life of John Leek: A teacher preying on vulnerable boys

It would take 50 years for the truth about John Leek to be
revealed in a Hamilton courtroom earlier this month
John Leek's entire life was seemingly devoted to teaching and comforting children.

He was a trusted teacher, social worker, principal and organist at Hamilton's children's choir. Parents invited him into their homes, unaware they had just welcomed a sexual predator who preyed on vulnerable boys.

It would take 50 years for the truth about Leek to be revealed in a Hamilton courtroom earlier this month.

"Instead of living up to obligations of his roles as a teacher, volunteer … he exploited the trust of victims and families," said assistant Crown attorney Brent Bentham on Aug. 11, the day Leek was convicted of 10 sex charges against seven victims from the mid-1960s to 1980.

"His standing in the community was the very currency by which he was able to sexually abuse the victims and get away with it for this long period of time."  (more...)

Sexual Assault by Teachers and School Employees in Canada

Students in Canada are at risk of being sexually assaulted by a teacher or other school employee. Such sexual abuse can have devastating effects on a student’s academic performance and can disrupt their mental stability for the rest of their lives. Victim’s losses can include both pain and suffering and lifelong future earnings losses.

As a result, some victims choose to sue the teacher (and their school) who sexually assaults them to obtain financial compensation. Such sexual assault lawsuits against teachers and school may result in judgments for hundreds of thousands of dollars or more.  (more...)

Hell Hath No Fury

Yes, it is true. Ashley Madison was not hacked - the data was stolen by a woman operating on her own who worked for Avid Life Media. The reason that I am so late to the second act of the Ashley Madison affair is that, without a supercomputer, it has taken over a week to finish the analysis of the massive data dumps that the perpetrator has so generously provided us with.

A hacker is someone who uses a combination of high-tech cybertools and social engineering to gain illicit access to someone else's data. But this job was done by someone who already had the keys to the Kingdom. It was an inside job.

In my first IBTimes UK article about Act One of the Ashley Madison Affair, I alleged that the group of hackers claiming responsibility for the "hack" simply did not exist. I gleaned this information from reliable sources within the Dark Web – which have yet to fail me. I also claimed that it was the act of a single person.  (more...)

Patrick Brown's Joe Biden Catholicism

You emerged from relative obscurity to win the Ontario PC leadership in a landslide. Get us up to speed: who are you and where did you come from?
I’ve been a Conservative party soldier at various levels for the last 22 years. I got my law degree in Windsor, spent two terms on Barrie council and then three terms in the House of Commons. I was so frustrated after the Ontario PC party’s defeat that I decided to get involved.

Your dad ran federally for the NDP; your mom was a schoolteacher. How did you wind up a diehard Conservative?
I wrote a letter to Brian Mulroney in grade school about acid rain. He responded, and I liked what he said. I told my parents, “I think I agree with the Conservative party.”

They didn’t try to sway you to the left?
No. They were just happy that I took an interest in politics. In fact, my dad has since become a Conservative.

Who is your Conservative patron saint?
It’s hard to pick just one. If I could patch together various Conservative qualities, I’d say Jean Charest’s passion, John A. Macdonald’s nation-building, Narendra Modi’s ability to link education to employment, and Thatcher’s boldness.

You attended St. Michael’s College for high school. Are you religious?
Not really. I was more into hockey.  (more...)
